Sogei-------------------------------(rings inkin bell to lead officiant into and from service)

Jiko--------------------------------(Lights charcoal in incense box and brings in for service)

Chika------------------------------(guest master)

Jikido---------------------------- (time keeper)

Work leader------------------ (arranges jobs during samu)

Chiden-------------------------- (cleans and prepares altars and flowers)

Doan------------------------------(strikes the bells during service)

Mokugyo------------------------(plays drum to lead chanting in service)

Umpan---------------------------(Strikes kitchen bell at the end of morning & evening zazen)

Dennan---------------------------(hand out sutra books & take care of zendo appearance)
